LBTC Training Center Dedication

The Lee Broadbent Training Center was officially dedicated on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 with a brief ceremony and hose uncoupling, which took the place of a formal ribbon cutting. Columbia River Fire and Rescue Board President, Diane Dillard, and Tina Broadbent, the wife of late Lee Broadbent, uncoupled the hose and declared the training facility officially open for training.
Construction on the facility began in September of 2006. The site features a six-story training tower, a streetscape building, a technical rescue tower, confined space props, and a storage building.
The training facility was made possible by Lee’s vision, perseverance and support on the Board of Directors for more than 22 years. His dream was to have a state-of-the-art training facility with a live-fire training tower where our firefighters could train safely for all the fire and rescue scenarios they might face protecting our communities.
